Ronaldino set for Anfield?

Liverpool midfielder Lucas is praying that reports linking Ronaldinho to Anfield are more than just scurrilous rumours.

One of Italy's many websites which deal in a constant stream of transfer speculation claimed on Monday that the infuriatingly inconsistent AC Milan playmaker could be on his way to Merseyside in January.

While 30-year-old Ronaldinho is currently stuck in the shadow of a resurgent Robinho at AC Milan, his next move is tipped to be to the MLS or back home to Brazil.
But Lucas told the Brazilian Globoesporte website: 'I'm not aware of anything regarding a possible signing of Ronaldinho, but of course I'd be very happy if it were to happen.
'We became friends during the time we shared at the (2008) Olympics and with the national team. It would be great to play with him at Liverpool.
'Everyone knows Ronaldinho's quality and what he can do. Without doubt it would be a great boost for us.'
Not everyone shares such a high opinion of Ronaldinho. Once a winner of the Ballon d'Or, he has just been nominated for the rather less prestigious Bidone d'Oro.
The award - which translates as the Golden Dustbin - is handed out each year to the most disappointing player in Serie A.
