Newcastle close in on Larsson

Newcastle are negotiating a deal for Birmingham City midfielder Sebastian Larsson.
Blues boss Alex Mcleish has granted Alan Pardew permission to speak to the Swede and his agent Per Jonsson about a move to St James' Park, and talks are set for Monday and Tuesday.
The Sweden international, 25, has a deal at St Andrews until the end of the season and, so far, talks over an extended contract have come to nothing.
Pardew has monitored the situation since arriving on Tyneside and he's keen on making Larsson his second Newcastle signing, having agreed a permanent deal for Hatem Ben Arfa last week.
