El Ghanassy claims City deal

Gent forward Yassine El Ghanassy claims he could soon be on his way to Manchester City.
The 20-year-old has been a big hit in his homeland since bursting onto the scene as a prodigiously-gifted teenager in 2008.His ability has been noted by clubs across Europe and it is believed to be only a matter of time before he moves on to pastures new.Reports during the January transfer window suggested that City were close to securing his signature, with Roberto Mancini impressed by the youngster's potential.
El Ghanassy has confirmed that interest was shown by City, with the Blues making their move on deadline day.Their efforts came to nothing on that occasion, but the highly-rated frontman claims there is every chance he could be on his way to Eastlands at the end of the season."I'm not disappointed it didn't get pushed through," El Ghanassy told Het Nieuwsblad."I think there is now an agreement with Manchester City for me to move in the summer."We will have to see if that works out. I am focused on Gent for now, but I think there is a possibility to move on."El Ghanassey is currently with the Belgium national side ahead of their friendly date with Finland on Wednesday and will be hoping to make his senior bow in that fixture.
