Neil Lennon assaulted at Celtic v Hearts match

Celtic manager Neil Lennon was attacked by a supporter during his side's SPL game with Hearts at Tynecastle on Wednesday night.A fan was caught on camera running along the touchline and appeared to strike the manager on the the back of the head.Security staff where then seen forcing the man to the ground before he was taken up the tunnel and the game restarted.The incident occured about five minutes into the second half of the match, with the scoreline at 2-0 to Celtic and Hearts reduced to 10 men.A spokeswoman for Lothian & Borders Police said a statement on the incident would be released in due course.The game was the penultimate SPL match of the season and one which second place Celtic could not lose if they are to have any hope of winning the league.

An police investigation into that were parcel bombs sent to Mr Lennon in April is ongoing.

  3. Well said. I am a Celtic fan and Neil does wind people up at times but all this stuff he is been subjected to the bombs threats and now some numpty attacking him at a football match is more than anyone should be expected to take.
