Blackburn Move for Manchester City Defender

The news that Manchester City are about to land Arsenal’s Gael Clichy has prompted Blackburn Rovers to make a move for City’s unwanted defender Nedum Onuoha.

Blackburn clearly feel that City will sell as soon as they have Clichy on their books and Onuoha, who would cost in the region of £6 Million, is just the sort of player that Blackburn would wish to sign, he is cheap but that does not mean he is average, he is rather good.

Onuoha has not really made it at Eastlands since the financial revolution there, he was on loan at Sunderland last season and has only represented Man City 94 times in eight years, definitely time for the young 24 year old to move on.

Onuoha has represented England at U21 level and if Blackburn do sign him and he gets regular first team football, he could find himself in contention for a England call up in the future.
