Sunderland swoop for Mikael Mandron

SUNDERLAND have snapped up 16-year-old French wonderkid Mikael Mandron for their Academy.
The strong 6ft 3in striker, who has had trials at other Premier League clubs, was due to sign youth forms yesterday as the Black Cats continue to add an international flavour to their development squad.
Mandron has been playing in the French lower leagues in Boulogne, but his performances were good enough to attract the attention of overseas scouts.
And he impressed Sunderland during a trial earlier in the summer, leading to the club offering him a development contract.
Although already known to French international selectors through time spent at the Clairefontaine Academy, he has British family which means he would be able to play for Scotland and England if he develops well enough.
