Barcelona are set to make an offer for Arsenal central defender Thomas Vermaelen.New Barca coach Tito Vilanova has just added Jordi Alba to his squad after he signed from Valencia but reports claim he wants another defender and Vermaelen is the target.Vilanova failed with a move to sign AC Milan star Thiago Silva, who signed a new deal at the San Siro last month and he is now ready to turn his attentions to the Gunners star.Vermaelen still has three years to run on his contract at the Emirates Stadium and Arsene Wenger will not want to sell but there is a chance the Belgian star could have his head turned if Barca make an approach.
