Arsenal plotting Leighton Baines raid
Arsenal could move for Everton defender Leighton Baines when the transfer window re-opens in January, according to reports.Gunners boss Arsene Wenger showed an interest in the player towards the end of the transfer window it has been claimed, but a deal failed to materialise and Baines ended up staying with the Toffees. The 27-year-old has long been linked with a move away from Goodison Park and Manchester United are known to be keen, but they could now be joined by Arsenal.Left-back is an area that Wenger is keen to strengthen but whether he would be willing to shell out the £15million Everton would be looking for is another matter.Everton believe that is the going rate for an England international but Wenger is unlikely to pay that much for a player that is edging closer to his thirties.
