Derek Boateng close to Fulham move

Derek Boateng and his representatives are in London to hold talks with Fulham over a possible move during the January transfer window. The 29-year-old saw his move to the Craven Cottage collapsed on deadline day after his Ukrainian side Dnipro failed to reach an agreement with the Cottagers. The Ghanaian international has seen limited action this season at Dnipro where he has featured only twice, culminating in his quest to seek a move away.He has been angling for a move away from the club and will attempt to seal a deal with Fulham during the January transfer window.Fulham manager Martin Jo is believed to be a huge admirer of the versatile player and has not hidden his desire to bring him to England, where he will cost the club around £2 million.Boateng and his representatives held a meeting with Fulham officials at the west Londoners’ Mostpur Park on Wednesday in a bid to seal the hugely anticipated move.Boateng, who can play as a defensive midfielder or at center back, could help fill the void left by the likes of Dickson Etuhu, Mousa Dembele and Danny Murphy, who left the club this summer.

The combative midfielder has previously played for German side Cologne as well as Getafe of Spain.
