Sunderland eye Spurs defender Dawson

Sunderland are reportedly interested in Spurs defender Michael Dawson, amid talk of a £5million January offer.Dawson was heavily linked with a move away from White Hart Lane in the summer and it was thought the England international was very close to joining QPR in a £5.5million deal following new boss Andre Villas-Boas' arrival. The 29-year-old was often overlooked at the start of the season, but he has worked hard in recent weeks to win his place back in the Spurs side and is thought to be keen to stay, despite interest from elsewhere.New QPR boss Harry Redknapp, who knows Dawson well from his time at Spurs, is keeping a close eye on the situation, while Sunderland chief Martin O'Neill is also interested.
AVB might be willing to listen to offers for the former Nottingham Forest youngster and anything in the £5-6million bracket could tempt him to sell.
