Wolves:Stearman Staying
Mick McCarthy has insisted Richard Stearman will be staying at Wolves following speculation linking the defender with a switch to Ipswich.
Stearman has established himself as a key part of McCarthy's plans since making the move to Wolves from Leicester in the summer of 2008.
Reports nevertheless surfaced indicating the versatile 23-year-old had attracted the attention of Ipswich manager Paul Jewell and could be on his way out of Molineux.
Wolves played Ipswich at the weekend and McCarthy was given assurances by his opposite number that there was no truth in the stories.
McCarthy maintains that even if there was interest in Stearman he would still not consider selling the defender.
"Stears is an important member of our squad," the manager told Wolves' official website.
"I wouldn't be willing to let him go so that puts that right one out of the water.
"Paul doesn't know how it got in the paper because I do know that if Richard Stearman was of any interest to him then he would have told me.
"He would ring me just like I would ring him."McCarthy also reiterated that there was not likely to be any transfer activity at Wolves in the near future, a situation he is comfortable with as he has every faith in the players already at his disposal.
"I'm happy with the squad I've got," said McCarthy.
"Unless something gets changed or there's a deal for somebody there's nothing imminent.
"There are still a couple of players available as well.
"I have no frustrations whatsoever and have had fabulous support from Steve (Morgan) and Jez (Moxey).
"The club is going forward - we have spent money, we've got a new stand up soon and a development at the training ground a possibility.
"It's our third season in the Premier League and I can only be delighted with my lot."

Wolves Sign Jamie O'Hara for £5m
Wolves have completed the signing of the midfielder Jamie O'Hara from Tottenham in a £5m deal.O'Hara has signed a five-year contract after enjoying a successful loan spell at Molineux during the second half of last season. The 24-year-old scored three goals in 13 games including one against Blackburn on the final day of the season which helped keep Wolves in the Premier League. An agreement was already in place for O'Hara to make the £5m move to Wolves should the player and manager Mick McCarthy want that to happen.O'Hara was often used just behind the main striker in a 4-5-1 formation as Wolves guaranteed Premier League football for a third successive season.McCarthy said: "Jamie made a big impact when he first came here. There was a dip in form at one juncture but he came strong again at the end."McCarthy said: "I am delighted the deal has been done which will see Jamie become a permanent Wolves player. It may have taken a bit of time to finalise all the details but it was always going to happen because we wanted to sign him and he wanted to come."He showed some real quality when he was on loan with us last season, and that was having come back from not playing for eight months after a back operation."Despite that absence, he made a key contribution over the second half of the campaign, and with a full pre-season behind him he has the potential to get even better next season."
McCarthy added: "He is a midfielder who is good on the ball, not afraid to put his foot in and also has an eye for goal.
"On top of that he is also a good character around the place who has a positive influence in the dressing room.
"He has also built up a great rapport with the fans who have enjoyed watching him play, particularly of course with the goal of the season he scored against West Brom.
"Jamie is a quality player – a Premier League player – and just the sort we need to bring in to strengthen the squad ahead of another season in the division."
