Manchester City reject £40M Balotelli Bid
Manchester City have been forced to reject a £40m bid for Mario Balotelli from PSG after Roberto Mancini threatened to quit. The Italian striker is apparently one of PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti's top transfer targets and is keen to land him, despite having already signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi this summer. The big spending Parisians reportedly lodged a huge bid for the 21-year-old but Mancini forced the City board to reject it by threatening to quit if his compatriot was sold.Mancini is desperate to keep Balotelli at the Etihad Stadium despite having had a number of public fallouts with the temperamental forward during his two years at City.Nonetheless, Mancini believes Balotelli's form at Euro 2012 showed the kind of player he can be and has revealed there are plenty of clubs willing to take a gamble on the former Inter Milan youngster. He said: "Mario did a fantastic European Championship. He's 21, it is clear that he can improve.
'This summer we had a lot of requests for him."Mancini is thought to have told the City board to forget about selling Balotelli and instead try to get rid of Emmanuel Adebayor after he turned down the chance to join Tottenham.

Manchester City Star Set For PSG Exit?
Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has admitted he would be interested in a move to big-spending Paris Saint-Germain.
Toure recently returned from a six-month doping ban but, despite starting in the 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League earlier in October, he has found his route to the first team blocked by in-form centre-back pairing Joleon Lescott and Vincent Kompany.
The 30-year-old could be involved again when City face Wolves in the Carling Cup on Wednesday, but the ex-Arsenal defender, who has never played in France before, has admitted the Paris project interests him.
"I would be interested because of my current situation at City," he told RMC Sport.
"If Paris call me, it wouldn't be like in previous years when I would say: 'Paris? I'm not so sure.'
"Now, if they call me, I will listen to what they have to say. Looking at all the very good players Paris have, that really makes me want to go there, that's clear."
Toure says the progress made Qatar Sports Investments pumped their cash into the capital club has made PSG an attractive proposition - and not just because of the money.
"I know I'm not the only player interested," he explained.
"There are other players who really want to play for PSG. Not just for the money, but also because we see there are very good investors who want the club to progress, to produce beautiful football and win trophies."

Newcastle Bid £7m for PSG Striker
Newcastle United have offered around £7 million for Paris St-Germain’s Turkish international striker Mevlut Erdinc.Newcastle first expressed their interest in the forward 12 months ago when Chris Hughton was their manager and failed with a bid last month.
Erdinc is a favourite of chief scout Graham Carr, and has been regularly watched by manager Alan Pardew and his assistant John Carver.
The offer for the former Sochaux striker has not been accepted yet, although the arrival of Kevin Gameiro from Lorient means the 24 year-old is not first choice at PSG and is willing to move.
Newcastle expect to be told whether their bid has been successful when the former Brazil international and Inter Milan manager Leonardo takes up his position as PSG’s sporting director tomorrow.

Arsenal set to bid £12m for PSG defender
Arsene Wenger’s search to find a defender looks set to continue as the Arsenal manager hopes to bring in Paris Saint Germain centre-back Mamadou Sakho, according to the Metro.
With Wenger’s move for Bolton's Gary Cahill going cold and Blackburn's Christopher Samba looking to extend his stay at Ewood Park, the Frenchman has now turned to fellow countryman Sakho and is ready to bid £12 million for the PSG defender.
Sakho, 20, has made 18 appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season, scoring three goals, and has emerged as a regular France international after being blooded into the side by coach Laurent Blanc.
Although Wenger - speaking prior to his side's 3-1 aggregate win over Ipswich Town in the League Cup on Tuesday - suggested that the Gunners are nowhere near finding a replacement for the injured Thomas Vermaelen and Sebastian Squillaci, there is some good news for Arsenal, with the latter resuming full training, meaning he could feature in Sunday’s clash against Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup.
Sakho has dropped 23 places in the latest edition of the Castrol Rankings and is now rated as the 614th best player currently plying his trade in one of the top five leagues in Europe.
