Nottingham Forest to sign World Cup star

Nottingham Forest have lined up a move for South African World Cup star Siphiwe Tshabalala.

The Kaizer Chiefs striker is due to fly in on Monday for a trial with the Championship promotion hopefuls.

The 26-year-old, nicknamed Shabba, scored the opening goal of last summer’s finals as the hosts drew 1-1 with Mexico.

Tshabalala’s agent Jazzman Mahlakgane said: 'There are two teams interested in Shabba, and Nottingham were the first to send him an invitation to come over for assessment.

'I was there for two weeks, and I was very impressed with the club setup. I am sure Tshabalala won’t struggle to impress during his trial.

'The good thing is that he is not going to India or China. Everybody watches English football, and if he signs there will be more exposure for him.'
