Big-spending Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande have reportedly made an incredible approach for Manchester United's Korean superstar Park Ji-Sung whereby they will double his current wages. The 30-year-old midfielder will be out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the 2011-12 season, creating plenty of speculation about his future. However, according to Chinese media, Guangzhou are offering Park a contract worth €8 million per season - double his current salary - to tempt him to China. Guangzhou look set to take over J-League's Urawa Reds as the best supported club in Asia.A fortnight ago Guangzhou signed Argentine midfielder Dario Conca on a deal where he allegedly became the world's third highest paid player behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Now Guangzhou, who are owned by wealthy Chinese real estate group Evergrande, have set their sights on luring Park to China."Club owner Xu Jiayin said he will do whatever is necessary to bring Park to the team," Guangzhou boss Lee Jang-Soo told the Beijing Times.
"However a deal has so far failed to materialize, because Park was determined to stay put at his current club."
Park had told the Sunday Mirror on the weekend that he had no reason to leave United.
"There's no truth at all that I would leave United - I want to stay here and I have no reason to leave," Park said.
"I would like to stay here for life, of course - why not? It's the best club in the world."
Guangzhou's massive financial backing has also already seen them sign Conca along with Brazilian striker Cleo from Partizan Belgrade as well as Korean international Cho Won-Hee who formerly played with Wigan.
The club currently leads China's Super League by nine points and are unbeaten this campaign.

Park Ji-Sung to leave Manchester United
Manchester United's Korean midfielder Park Ji-Sung says he believes he doesn't have long left with the Red Devils, in the wake of links with Spanish La Liga duo Sevilla and Atletico Madrid. The 30-year-old Red Devil, who retired from international football after the 2011 Asian Cup, comes out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the 2011-12 season.Mirror Football reports Park is attracting interest from the Spanish duo and added Atletico will have money to spend with Sergio Aguero and David de Gea set to be sold by the club.Earlier this month, The Telegraph reported Park is likely to sign an extension with United when he returns to the club for their pre-season tour of the United States in August. However, Park told reporters ahead of his charity match in Vietnam he was open to the idea of moving to another club before retirement."I won't be able to show my best after one or two years. I don't know how long I can stay at Manchester," said Park."I never thought about retirement but it's obvious that I don't have much time left as a player.”He added: "According to circumstances, I might leave Manchester United and retire in another team.”
